Michael Hill

Assistant Chief Hill began his law enforcement career in 2011 while working for the Georgia Department of Corrections as an adult felony probation officer. Later, he served as a police officer with the Clayton County Police Department in Jonesboro, Georgia, where he was promoted to the rank of detective.

Throughout his career, Assistant Chief Hill has developed expertise in investigating property-related crimes such as theft, burglary, motor vehicle theft, identity fraud, and financial crimes. He also has experience investigating major felony crimes, including homicide, aggravated assault, gang-related offenses, and criminal enterprises.

In 2017, Assistant Chief Hill joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. His investigative skills have been called upon across multiple units and divisions to conduct high-level investigations. His work has earned him a reputation as a dedicated professional who takes initiative and executes thorough criminal investigations. He currently serves as a supervising investigator over the FCDAO’s Major Crimes Division, which includes the Homicide Unit, Cold & Capital Case Unit, Gangs Unit, White Collar Crime Unit, and Civil Forfeiture Unit.

Assistant Chief Hill is a committed and humble servant of the Fulton County community. His leadership style reflects the guiding principle he adopted early in his career: “Lead from the front. Excellence always.”
