Executive District Attorney Daysha D. Young is a lifelong Georgia resident who received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia.
Daysha is a coveted speaker and award-winning prosecutor. She has been practicing law for 24 years, 21 of which have been as a prosecutor. She has served as a Deputy District Attorney in cases involving children and victims of sexual and physical assault in DeKalb and Fulton counties.
In 2021, Daysha rejoined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office as the Executive District Attorney of the Special Victims Division. Daysha is a member of several committees and organizations, including the Child Abuse Protocol, Sexual Assault Response Team, U.S. Attorney’s Firearm Project, and SART State Expert. She is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), National Black Prosecutors Association (NBPA), and the Greater Atlanta Black Prosecutor Association (GABPA).
