George A. Jenkins, Jr is a seasoned trial attorney with more than twenty years of criminal litigation experience and a record of excellence in both trial and appellate advocacy. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Law (Moritz) and obtained his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in political science with departmental honors from Morehouse College. He has extensive experience handling complex felony criminal cases and high profile matters in Georgia’s busiest and most demanding courtrooms as a prosecutor. He has been admitted to practice law in both the State of Georgia and Ohio. Before joining District Attorney Fani Willis’ administration, he was a senior attorney with the Office of The Fulton County District Attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. As a senior attorney for fifteen years, he has represented the State of Georgia in all capital felony crimes, specializing in high-end drug trafficking and arson cases. He was co-lead counsel in the high profile 2017 Basil Eleby I-85 Bridge Collapse Fire case.
In 2018, he was recognized for his trial skills when he received the Trial Court Attorney of the Year Award in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. He is also an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association.
Before being admitted to the Georgia Bar, he obtained extensive felony criminal litigation experience as an Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor in Cleveland, Ohio. As a prosecutor in the biggest and busiest jurisdiction in the state, he successfully represented the State of Ohio in both trial and appellate proceedings. He developed his trial advocacy and writing skills handling hundreds of serious violent felony cases as lead prosecutor, in crimes such as rape, aggravated robbery, and felonious assault with a firearm. He now employs his extensive criminal litigation experience, courtroom prowess, and personal desire to zealously serve the citizens of Fulton County, Georgia.
