In the summer of 1975, Lt. Manos began her law enforcement career as a dispatcher in the (then) small town of Fairburn, Georgia. There were eight police officers, including the Chief, and Fulton County Fire/Rescue provided medical services. From there, Lt. Manos transitioned to the Fulton County/East Point Police dispatch office, considered the first 9-1-1 Center in Georgia. Cutting-edge technology improved services for citizens, such as emergency medical triage used to dispatch Advanced Life Support ambulances from Grady Hospital.
As her career progressed, Lt. Manos worked at several police departments where fellow officers taught her essential survival skills needed to succeed as a road officer. During her transition from riding in a squad car to a motorcycle and later becoming a detective, supervisors and fellow patrol officers shared valuable knowledge that helped her establish the ethics and professionalism required for an untarnished career.
In 1994, Lt. Manos became an academy instructor at the Clayton Regional Law Enforcement Academy in Jonesboro, Georgia. This regional academy served all 159 counties in the state, and she taught POST advanced-specialized courses and mandate classes for new officers. Over her tenure at the academy, Lt. Manos played a role in training thousands of law enforcement officers, many of whom she remains in contact with today. While at the academy, Lt. Manos achieved POST recognition as a Master Instructor, in addition to earning certifications in Firearms, Driver Training, Citizens Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE), Internal Affairs Investigations, Verbal Judo, VALOR (Preventing Violence Against Law Enforcement and Ensuring Officer Resilience and Survivability), Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT), and other high-liability areas of police training.
In 2021, Lt. Manos joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Her first assignment was with Major Case, and she later transitioned to the Civil Rights Unit, where she is currently assigned.
While at the District Attorney’s Office, Lt. Manos has received the Civil Rights Super Star Award, the Civil Rights Diamond Award, and the Women’s Day Award. Lt. Manos considers her time at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, under the leadership of District Attorney Fani Willis, to be the pinnacle of her career—a chapter she will always look back on fondly and with appreciation.
