Antonio Long is a policing professional with over 22 years of experience. Deputy Chief Long has served as a probation officer, fugitive investigator, criminal investigator, and a university police officer. Antonio Long worked his way up the chain in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office from Investigator to the Director of Security and Director of Crimes Against Women and Children. Deputy Chief Long has received numerous training hours and awards in the field of Law Enforcement. To include being a general instructor, hostage negotiations, and numerous tactical and leadership classes.
As a Senior Investigator within the district attorney’s office, Deputy Chief Long served as the lead investigator on several high-profile cases to include sexual assault, homicide, and domestic violence cases. Additionally, Long coordinated security details, conducted security and site assessments, as well as threat investigations for the office and numerous high-profile cases.
Deputy Chief Long served as a University Police Chief for 10 years before returning to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. In that capacity, Deputy Chief Long served on numerous panels and advisory boards advancing the profession of campus policing. In addition to being appointed by two governors to a state board advancing the profession of security.
Deputy Chief Long has a Master’s in Counseling and a Master’s in Public Administration. He is a graduate of Command College, Chief’s Executive School, New Chief Leadership School, and has executive, managerial, and supervisory POST certificates.
Being a native of Atlanta, Deputy Chief Long is passionate about serving his community through outreach initiatives through the District Attorney’s office, his local church, as well as advancing the profession the law enforcement.
