As of July 3, 2017, the Department of Planning and Community Services located at 5440 Fulton Industrial Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30336 ceased to exist as a standalone department. All functions of the department (Planning, Zoning, Permitting, Building Inspections and Land Development/Inspections) for all of South Fulton except the Fulton Industrial Business District became the responsibility of the new city of South Fulton.

Planning, Zoning, Permitting, Building Inspections and Land Development/Inspections for the Fulton Industrial Business District are now provided by Public Works.
