Fulton County is always committed to maintaining and enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. As part of this commitment, Fulton County has begun the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan and has rolled out the first series of Public Involvement meeting.
The Comprehensive Plan is an official document adopted by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners as the vision and policy guide for decisions about the development of Unincorporated Fulton County for the next 20 years (2015-2035). The Plan will continue to create broad policies to guide land use and rezoning as the County evolves in the areas of transportation, housing, parks and other public facilities, natural resources and historic resources.
The title and guiding principles of the 2035 Fulton County Comprehensive Plan will continue as "Your Community, Your Future". Recognizing that the comprehensive plan is a shared vision of the future of Unincorporated Fulton County, this plan sets to articulate a vision of how Unincorporated Fulton County will grow in ways that sustain community values.
Over the past few months, the County’s Planning Staff held a number of community meetings to provide public involvement opportunities for stakeholders during the preparation of the 2035 Comprehensive Plan Update. With their guidance, Stakeholders were able to play a vital role in the shaping of Unincorporated Fulton County’s future growth and development.
