Chris Sperry obtained his undergraduate degree in Criminology from Ohio University in 2009 and earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2012. After passing the bar, he joined the Alcovy Judicial Circuit as an Assistant District Attorney, where he served the citizens of Newton County until 2015. That year, he joined the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney, eventually rising to become the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney in charge of the Major Case Unit. He was named Clayton County District Attorney’s Office Employee of the Year in 2018 and served as Chief Assistant District Attorney in 2019.

In 2021, he joined the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and was assigned to the Major Case Unit, where he prosecuted complex homicides and earned the Pinnacle Award for excellence. He was promoted to Deputy District Attorney over the Gang Unit in 2022 and again in 2025 to Chief Deputy District Attorney over the Trial Division.

Throughout his career, Chris Sperry has prosecuted hundreds of violent offenders from start to finish and served as the lead prosecutor in dismantling multiple criminal organizations. He has tried over fifty felony jury trials, including narcotics offenses, sex crimes, fraud, vehicular homicides, armed robberies, gang crimes, and murder.

Chris has also served as an instructor on evidence, criminal procedure, and prosecutorial best practices for numerous public safety organizations, including the National District Attorneys Association, Georgia Public Safety Training Center, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia Gang Investigators Association, and the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia.

In his free time, Chris can be found with his rescue hound, Justice Tecumseh Basset, or cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
