Caitlin McGillicuddy serves as a Deputy District Attorney in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office under the leadership of District Attorney Fani T. Willis. Ms. McGillicuddy supervises and mentors attorneys in the Complex Trial Division, which is tasked with prosecuting serious felonies within its jurisdiction. Prior to assuming this role, she served as a Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit, where she prosecuted cases involving attempted murder, aggravated child molestation, rape, and other crimes against children.
Ms. McGillicuddy has been practicing law as a prosecutor for ten years, previously working in the Flint and Clayton Judicial Circuits before joining the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in 2023. A New York native, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Middle East Studies, with a minor in Theology, from Fordham University. She went on to attend Emory University School of Law, graduating in 2015.
During her career, Ms. McGillicuddy has tried several hundred misdemeanor cases, ranging from theft to domestic violence. She successfully argued an appeal from trial court to the Georgia Supreme Court, preserving the conviction and contributing to a change in the application of Georgia law. She has also gained extensive felony trial experience prosecuting cases involving aggravated assault, rape, aggravated child molestation, incest, participation in criminal street gang activity, and murder.
Ms. McGillicuddy has benefited from learning from some of the state’s best trial attorneys and is dedicated to mentoring the attorneys in the Complex Trial Division. She strives to help them balance accountability with justice and hone their discretion to best serve the community.
